Júlia is a world-music and jazz singer who has recently completed her music studies at SOAS Univesity in London and is continuing her jazz studies at JAMU in Brno. Audiences may know her from several musical groups and projects such as SOLE, Velvet Case, and O Gadje Bashaven. Thanks to her participation in the Roma choir Čhavorenge under the direction of Ida Kelarová in cooperation with the Czech Philharmonic, she has developed a strong relationship with Roma culture, from which she draws musically on her debut album. Her album Manuša won the Radio Head Award for the best Slovak world music album of 2022 and scored highly in international world music charts (WMCE).
