Ján Palárik Theatre in Trnava has brought a truly unique festival experience to Slovakia. The grand opening of the festival for children and young adults took place in the Mirror Hall. The audience was treated to a rich 5-day programme full of domestic and international theatre productions, concerts, exhibitions and workshops.
The festival’s main program was launched with the premiere of Lemonade Sea, a production by the Children’s Theatre Academy. This marks the very first time that youth, together with a professional creative team, have developed a full-fledged stage production as a permanent part of DJP’s repertoire. The project is inspired by Auroville, a book about the real creation of a utopian city, written by Polish journalist Katarzyna Boni. It draws on a genuine dream of societal change that continues to endure.
The festival then moved outdoors, where the theatre courtyard resonated with the electronic music of Sofia Nøt, also known as IAmNøt. She began her musical journey playing in hardcore/punk bands, with whom she released several albums, toured across European countries, and organized dozens of concerts in Bratislava. Over time, she began to feel constrained by the limits of the genre and yearned for a more complex means of self-expression, which she found in electronic dance music. In 2022, she released her debut solo album, Changes, under her IAmNøt project, exploring styles such as techno, darkwave, and breakbeat.
