The novel by Édouard Louis depicts the relationship of the author and his father through pieces of memory: their fights with each other, for each other, to understand and accept each other, and to let themselves live and express the love they feel for each other. As the author calls it, this novel is a collage of love letters to his father, or rather a novel about the heaviness of saying ‘I love you’. Who killed my father is an intimate story, yet it focuses on the political environment and the responsibility of community. The piece is an experiment which combines puppetry with contemporary dance, text-choir with political proclamation.
